12 Hours in Stockholm....

Must be a record!! Yes, we thought ourselves crazy before we went, the checkout assistant at the airport thought we were nuts, Anders thought we were insane...but still we did it.

Who knows why, but for the bargin price of £30 we jetted over to Sweden to get our precious 'Finn 5 Fel' CDs signed....."Well, it wasn't my idea", "but it wasn't mine either!" "Don't look at me"...<sigh> maybe it was our collective consciousness that brought us here, but here we were, nevertheless.

And it was cold.

And, of course, pissing it down.

Excitable Ailsa Would u trust these people with a camera?
"I'm too old & tired for all this shit..." 'Dual Purpose' sick bag "Weeee looooove yoooouuuu!!!!!"

Upon arrival we headed to Åhlens, where the theme of the day was obvious from the moment we stepped through the doors. I almost felt sorry for any staff members who didn't like Gyllene Tider and had to put up with the CD.
ALL . DAY . LONG .

Thankfully, not much of a queue (which we found in the ladies clothing dept...hmmn...), the few that were already waiting had one obvious thing in common-that they weren't even born when Gyllene Tider split up!! We later learned that schools had broke up for holidays, and that bored kids were probably just curious to see the guys that their mums swooned over in their youth. God I feel old!

We spotted a couple of aquaintances in the queue, and in true Brit cheekyness asked them to save us a spot, as we didn't have long before our plane took us back home and needed to get done quickly. So we ate, wandered, ate some more and got back in time for the fun. A couple of young lads had a guitar & harmonica, and were entertaining the queue with renditions of GT songs, with most people joining in the sing-song. Must be a Swedish thing.

We couldn't see the signing area from the queue, (despite being near the front) only some rather attractive knickers, so we had no idea where the boys would come from. Sure enough, they came from behind..erm, let me rephrase that, they wandered along the queue down to the front, with much cheering and one rather high pitched squeel from a young girl. Per stuck his finger in his ear and shook his head in a comical 'owww, my ear!' kind of way.

They got down to business, looking like they had been signing constantly for a week and were about to start digging their way out to freedom from under the table. It took mere seconds before it was our turn, and on spotting Fliss & myself Anders began to grin & his eyebrow went into orbit ('Don't even go there...just sign the damn things so we can go home!') I asked Per if he was tired of signing yet, and he said that he only has a short name, so its not so bad.

We hung around for about an hour, taking pix and watching people get items signed (why so many shoes? Must be a Swedish thing Pt 2) spotted Åsa & Gabriel chatting to people (and not browsing underwear) and Marie Dimberg hovering around as usual. BUT time ran out & we had a plane to catch, so we grabbed a snack with a couple of other friends we had met, and headed to the airport. We got told off on the plane for taking photographs, and so had to amuse ourselves by trying to guess which of the stewards were gay (its always the pretty ones-so not fair). In no time we were home, back at work, and counting the days until July....<sigh>
